A fire has broken out in Trabuco Canyon in Orange County, California, and is growing steadily, burning hundreds of acres. Which areas have been evacuated?
A fire has broken out at Trabuco Canyon in Orange County, California, burning through vegetation on the hillside. The Orange County Fire Authority has called it the “Airport Fire” because it began near a field for remote-controlled airplanes.
The blaze has spread and has burned almost 300 acres in Trabuco Canyon, a community in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains.
Fire authorities responded to the fire around 1:30 p.m. PST, fighting the blaze from the ground and the air. The flames have spread since that time.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has urged residents to keep themselves posted on the latest evacuation alerts and be ready to leave their homes as soon as they are advised to do so.
The following areas were given mandatory evacuation orders:
