Update:

This week, Nestlé USA announced a voluntary recall of four frozen products under its Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s brands due to the potential presence of foreign material in the food.

On Monday, the company issued a press release, stating that certain batches of four frozen ready meal products may contain particles resembling wood.

“We are taking this action after consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue, including one potential choking incident to date,” the statement explained.

Which food products have been recalled for potentially containing wood particles?

This recall involves a limited quantity of batches of items produced between August 2024-March 2025. These products were distributed at major retailers in the US between September 2024-March 2025. Nestlé USA stress that the recall does not involve any other Lean Cuisine or STOUFFER’S products.

  • Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli
  • Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry
  • STOUFFER’S Party Size Chicken Lasagna

*Batches produced between August 2024-March 2025.

The company has provided a helpline for support: Tel: (800) 681-1676 Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. EST.

They add that they are actively investigating the source of the wood-like substance and feel confident that it is merely an isolated issue.
