Goodbye to Chromecast: you will only be able to buy the last ones left in stock in stores
It’s the end of the road for Chromecast as Google discontinues the media adapter.

It appears that Google’s Chromecast streaming device is on its last legs with Chromecast with Google TV 4K and HD models no longer available for purchase on the US Google Store.
Apparently Google believes that given that all modern television sets have integrated streaming capabilities (even cheaper entry level models) consumers no longer are searching for low priced streaming devices.

Google TV is now default on the bulk on new smart television sets which now makes the need for external devices redundant and now only serves older television sets without smart capabilities.

For those consumers with an older set and looking for a streaming device, both the Roku Express and Amazon Fire Stick are still widely available.
