Goodbye to these Cheerios cereal flavors: Check to see if your favorite is on the list
It has been revealed three speciality flavors of Cheerios will be discontinued, to the disappointment of many cereal lovers.

There is bad news for (some) Cheerios fans, with General Mills announcing three speciality flavors in the cereals will coming off the shelves.
Which Cheerios flavors are being discontinued?
As well as Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, which was originally introduced in 2013, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, first sold in 2017, Honey Nut Cheerios Minis products, which were only announced as a new edition in 2024, will also be discontinued.
The first we learned of the (potentially horrifying) news was in a post from Instagram foodie The Cereal Queen (real name Kayla Simonsen), who, if you hadn’t guessed from her username, is a self-confessed “cereal lover”.
Disappointment over cereals being axed
“Of the 3, it baffles me the most that Cheerios would discontinue the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios,” she bemoans, while also explaining her bemusement at the axing of the Medley Crunch: “It’s way better than the Maple Cinnamon Hearty Nut Medley they have out”.
Although almost any opinion about food is subjective, the general consensus, if comments on the post are anything to go by, is that General Mills’ decision is an unpopular one. The vast majority of users also vented their disbelief that Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios in particular would be no more.
“Choco PB–in any product–should never go away!" commented one Cheerio enthusiast. “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios are a staple in my house!!” claimed another. You have to scroll down a long, long way for an opposing view.
Why are those flavors of Cheerios being discontinued?
General Mills hasn’t commented on why the three flavors mentioned are being discontinued, so we can only speculate that the decision has something to do with unexpectedly slow sales.
This year, the company debuted a line of Cheerios protein cereal, which comes in cinnamon, strawberry, and cookies and creme flavors. It also recently announced the release of the new Cheerios Oat Crunch Chocolate, as well as the return of Frosted Lemon Cheerios for a limited period this summer.
