Great news for McDonald’s customers: The fast food franchise launches brand new menu item with a summer-inspired taste
McDonald’s has released its nostalgia-inspired “go-to summer dessert,” a new variation of one of the fast food chain’s classics.

Summer is (almost officially) upon us and McDonald’s is coming at us with a brand new ice-cold delight to keep us cool in the next few months.
If you’re a McDonald’s’s fan, you’ll likely be no stranger to a McFlurry, the frozen soft serve dessert that’s been tickling taste buds in the United States since 1997 (1995 in Canada).
But you might not be familiar with the latest addition to the menu, with the fast food franchise brining out a new McFlurry that tastes just like summer. That’s the marketing spiel, anyway.
Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry: ingredients and release date
McDonald’s newest item is Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry, made from McDonald’s own creamy vanilla soft serve mixed with Hershey’s milk chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. Sweet goodness meets nostalgia - remember those summer camps as a child? - meets summer vibes, which the company is banking on being a winning mix.
In case you were wondering, this is what McDonald’s actually said about their new offering in an official announcement on their website: “Whether you’re looking to grab a sweet snack before lounging around the campfire or looking to satisfy your summer craving, the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry will be your go-to summer dessert. And while you’re at it, grab one for a friend – you know what they say, the “s’more” the merrier!”
The good news is that you can already head down to your nearest McDonald’s to get one, with the newest McFlurry debuting on June 10.
New McFlurry reviews
Instagram foodie Snackolator declared himself a fan, praising the dessert’s “perfect blend” of crackers, marshmallow and chocolate. “It’s delicious. We should be having these things year round.”
Some commenters were in agreement, with one saying “McDonald’s definitely nailed this one,” while others described it as “great” and “so good”. No messing about there.
As tends to happen, especially on social media, not everybody is a fan, with additional reviews ranging from “okay,” to “horrible,” to “gross”.
Perhaps it’s best to try it for yourself.
