Meryl Streep has been a Hollywood icon for decades. In terms of Academy Awards, Streep has been nominated 21 times in two different categories, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

From those nominations she has won three times, making her one of the most acclaimed American actresses of all time, picking up a Best Supporting Actress award in 1980 for ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’ as well as two Best Actress awards for ‘Sophie’s Choice’ in 1983 and ‘The Iron Lady’ in 2012, nearly 30 years later.
