Is football the possible cause of the divorce between Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen?
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have hired lawyers to separate. We share with you their marital problems that have led them to divorce.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have officially filed for divorce, as of Friday 28 October 2022. The pair filed similar messages on Instagram saying that “co-parenting” would be their priority. In total the couple were married for 13 years; they have two children together, Benjamin (12) and Vivian (9). They also parent Brady’s first child Jack (15), who he had with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
In breaking the news to his followers, Brady said that the couple “arrived at this decision [to divorce] amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.” Brady said the priority for the couple is their children and that they plan to “work together as parents” to “ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
Was football the cause of Brady’s divorce
In early September, Page Six revealed that Gisele Bündchen had left Tom Brady days earlier, traveling alone to Costa Rica after a bitter fight. Little more than a month later, everything seems to indicate that both were unable to solve their marital problems since, according to several reports, the couple already has their respective lawyers for the divorce.
Tom Brady played with the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2019, and after nearly twenty years, he announced his retirement. The news was celebrated by his wife, and his decision to continue in the NFL could have contributed to their potential split. In 2020, Brady announced that he would take the position of quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Marital problems between Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen that have ended in divorce
The first reports indicated that the big fight that caused Gisele to leave Tampa was Brady’s decision not to retire from the NFL and dedicate himself to his family. However, a source told Page Six a few weeks ago that their problems had nothing to do with that but did not reveal the real reason.
However, Brady’s decision not to retire from the NFL has been questioned by the model on several occasions. In a recent interview with Elle, Gisele spoke to her reservations about Brady’s career saying, “Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.”
“I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too,” said Bündchen showing that she does respect Brady’s decision to choose his own future.
“I did my part, which was to be there for Tom,” she explained. “I moved to Boston and focused on creating a welcoming and loving environment for my children to grow up to be there supporting him and his dreams,” she said. “Now it will be my turn,” he said.
Multiple sources told Page Six that the supermodel consulted a divorce attorney in 2015 after a secret separation with Brady, showing that this is not the first time threat of separation has loomed over the couple.
The insiders added that the seven-time Super Bowl champion and Gisele even parted several times over the years before the “epic fight” in August that led to what appears to be the end of their marriage of 13 years.
