It’s not Italy or Spain: This is the country Americans want to move to the most
A survey of more than 100,000 people, conducted by Expatsi showed a clear leader in the top requested relocation country.

Relocating away from the United States has been a popular option for many Americans in recent years with a significant number of people taking this step especially after the Covid pandemic.
Professional flexibility and the ability to work remotely have also been factors that encourage many Americans to pursue life away from the United States. There has also been a rising number of individuals looking to exit the States since the change of government.
Europe, the No. 1 destination
Whilst some Americans opt for destinations closer to U.S. soil such as Canada, Costa Rica or Mexico, a move to Europe is the undoubted preference for many who participated in a survey conducted by Expatsi.
The survey was conducted by more than 116,363 Americans who looked into leaving the U.S. throughout 2024 with their requests being administered by Expatsi.
Portugal was the clear preferred destination followed by Spain and then the United Kingdom.
Wild coves, bustling resort towns and dramatic swathes of powdery white sand – these are the best beaches in Portugal we return to time and time again https://t.co/48ZENXeYjo
