THANKSGIVING

Low cost Thanksgiving dinner: Target is offering a turkey feast with all of the trimmings for an unbelievable price

Ever-rising prices threaten to put a squeeze on finances this holiday season but Target has an affordable option for many families.

Target, the supermarket chain, has a pretty good Thanksgiving deal on food. For $25 you can pick up lots of the main essentials for your family meal.

The items in Target for under $25 combined

  • Good & Gather Premium Basted Young Turkey (Frozen) – 10 lb.
  • Good & Gather Russet Potatoes – 5 lb.
  • Good & Gather Cut Green Beans – 14.5 oz.
  • Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup – 22 oz.
  • Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce – 14 oz.
  • Stove Top Turkey Stuffing Mix – 6 oz.
  • Heinz HomeStyle Roasted Turkey Gravy – 12 oz.

“We know our guests are looking for incredible value and ease as they get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones,” said Rick Gomez, chief food & beverage officer at Target, said in a statement.

How much will a Thanksgiving turkey cost in 2023?

The retail turkey prices were down about 13 percent in October compared to the same month last year. The average store price for a 10-to 15-pound fresh whole bird was $1.40, 22 cents cheaper than in 2022. However, shoppers may get an even better deal as the holiday gets closer.

“Historically we see a big drop in the two weeks before Thanksgiving,” Swanson told CNN.

If Target is not your favoured shop then look around to see where you can get the best deals. Walmart and Aldi have already made it clear that they will be reducing prices for Thanksgiving meal options after bumper inflation in 2022.

While turkey is cheaper this year, other staples for your table may be much more expensive, such as canned cranberries which are up nearly 60 percent over last year.
