Lulu Gribbin’s amazing recovery with Justin Thomas after shark attack
Justin Thomas invited Lulu Gribbin, a young girl who was attacked by a shark, to play a few holes of golf.

A teenager who was attacked by a shark and spent more than 70 days in hospital is making a sensational recovery, aided by pro golfer Justin Thomas.
Lulu Gribbin was attacked by a shark in the Gulf waters off Walton County, Florida and lost her left hand and right leg; Thomas, one of her heroes, initially sent her a video in support before inviting her to play a few rounds.
“I know you’re in the recovery process right now,” Thomas said, “which, if everything I’ve heard about you is true, you’re going to do great with. Stay strong, be confident, be positive. All this stuff will come to an end and a lot of good will come from it. I also heard that you’re a big golf fan, so I’m very excited for you to be able to get back to playing some golf and, hopefully, come to some tournaments soon, where we can meet and get together.” Within three months Gribbin was practicing her swing.
‘All right, Lulu, knock it in’
Thomas invited Gribbin to hang out at a PGA Tour, and it came to pass: the two met up at this year’s PGA stop in Arizona.
The 2-time PGA Championship winner stepped up to his birdie putt on the 13th green during the pro-am before inviting Lulu in and saying “All right, Lulu, knock it in”: a dead centre shot came as it the ball went in to huge cheers. The former Alabama All-American then autographed Gribbin’s birdie ball.
A storybook moment you’ll have to see to believe 😊
