Macy’s needs to hire 38,000 new workers for the holiday season: List of stores with vacancies

If there is something that characterizes the Christmas season, without a doubt, it is shopping. As the holidays approach, department and retail stores have begun to open new vacancies to strengthen their staff. Such is the case with Macy’s.

According to a report published by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, the American department store chain will open 38,000 new vacancies to cover the demand during the Christmas season. These new jobs are temporary and are aimed at customer service in Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury stores, as well as their respective distribution centers throughout the country.

The starting wage for a Macy’s employee is $15 per hour, well above the national minimum wage average of $7.25. Additionally, employees can access to certain discounts and receive bonuses of up to $500 dollars “for each family member or friend they manage to recruit to be part of the Macy’s team,” reported Sólo Dinero.
