If you are a Wells Fargo client and you suddenly could not view or access the funds in your account, you are not alone. The bank has been dealing with a glitch that began on Thursday, though they said that the issue did not affect all its customers.

According to the latest report from CNN, Wells Fargo has said that they have now resolved the issue. The bank had reported a similar problem back in March.

What to do in case of missing funds

If you notice that you are unable to view your money or are missing funds from a Wells Fargo account or any other bank account, you should contact the financial institution directly, according to the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

It is important to bring such developments to the attention of the bank, because usually, the clients who communicate soonest with customer service will be the ones attended to. One should not assume the issue would resolve itself, so it is important to be proactive in making sure nothing untoward happened to the funds in your account and that your balance has not changed.

Check your bank account status periodically

Although Wells Fargo has said the glitch is no longer an issue, it would be prudent to make sure you did not incur any overdraft fees while the problem was still present.

If your bank is not able to satisfactorily resolve your issues, you could bring the matter to the attention of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or your state banking regulator.

The latest Wells Fargo glitch has brought to the fore the need to make sure you are on top your bank accounts, so that you can determine that your funds are intact at any point in time, that you have not become a victim of any type of fraud, and that you are not overdrawn.
