Although the covid-19 emergency has come to an end, the truth is that there are still millions of people across the nation who continue to suffer the economic ravages of the pandemic.

For this reason, various states have chosen to offer their own economic aid with the aim of helping the sector of the population most in need. Such is the case in California, where a new payment of $4,000 is about to arrive.

But, will all residents be eligible? Here we share who will be able to receive the payment.

New payment of $4,000 in California

This new financial aid comes from the Recovery Action for Tomorrow Fund (RAFT) program of the non-profit association, Jewish Family Service.

Who can receive the $4,000 payment

According to the organization’s website, the program is intended solely for low-income San Diegans who “suffered disproportionately from the COVID-19 pandemic.” Applications must be received by 11:59 pm 21 May 2023. The requirements to apply are the following:

  • Have annual income less than $29,160 for individuals or $60,000 for families of up to four members
  • Families with dependents have under 18 years of age
  • Adults over 55 years and older
  • Families with members who have a disability
  • Reside in one of the following 39 ZIP codes:

    91901, 91915, 91948, 91980, 92058, 92083, 92110, 92173, 91905, 91917, 91950, 92004, 92060, 92084, 92113, 92259, 91906, 91934, 91962, 92020, 92066, 92086, 92114, 92536, 91910 91935 91963, 9202 7, 92070, 92102, 9213 9, 92672, 91911, 91945, 91977, 92055 , 92081, 92105, 92154.

How to request payment

If you think you qualify for the $4,000 payment you can apply online at the Jewish Family Service website.

Recipients will be selected through a lottery and will receive payment on a prepaid payment card, which will be sent to them by postal mail.
