Pentagon’s UFO photos: The best declassified images from the new release

President Trump ordered the release of government documents detailing unexplained phenomena related to UAPs so “the people can decide for themselves.”

Update:

The Pentagon released its first tranche of 162 files related to UFOs and UAPs on Friday. It will be dropping more every few weeks “as they are discovered and declassified.” The move comes after President Donald Trump ordered that they be made public in February “based on the tremendous interest shown.”

Nearly half of Americans believe that aliens have visited Earth according to a recent YouGov poll. As for UFOs, while 30% believe they are alien ships, the percentage that think they have some other explanation has increased from 35% to 45% over the past couple years.

The documents made public on a Department of War UFO website contain files from the FBI, Department of Defense, NASA and State Department. The include reports from witnesses, photos and videos as well as communications between government agencies seeking guidance on how to put out an official explanation of the phenomena to avoid “hysteria, or panic.”

The majority contain redactions, but they come with the they are there to “protect the identity of eyewitnesses, the location of government facilities, or potentially sensitive information about military sites not related to UAP.”

“No redactions have been made to any files released under President Trump’s directive concerning information about the nature or existence of any encounter reported as a UAP or related phenomena.”

Trump posted on social media that with the release of these files that “the people can decide for themselves, ‘WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?’”
