The United States has several economic relief programs for low-income individuals, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and assists families who struggle to afford food. The aid is provided monthly, with the benefit being loaded onto an EBT debit card. These cards can be used as a payment method at selected supermarkets, shops, and mobile markets.

SNAP is a federal program, but state governments administer it. As a result, the requirements, amounts, and payment dates may differ from state to state. In this regard, we’ve compiled a list of states in the United States that will continue to issue SNAP coupon payments until the end of 2023.

In which states will payments arrive before the end of 2023?

To date, nine states will continue distributing aid until at least December 28. These states are:

  • Alabama: December 4 to 23
  • Delaware: December 2 to 23
  • Florida: December 1 to 28
  • Georgia: December 5 to 23
  • Indiana: December 5 to 23
  • Louisiana: December 1 to 23
  • Maryland: December 4 to 23
  • Missouri: December 1-22

The USDA, like Social Security, makes annual payments increase through the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). This is done to ensure that payments are in line with the inflation rate and to prevent aid recipients from experiencing purchasing losses when the inflation rate is high. With the COLA increase for 2024, the maximum monthly SNAP payments for next year have been adjusted accordingly.

  • 1 member: $291 dollars
  • 2 members: $535
  • 3 members: $766
  • 4 members: $973
  • 5 members: $1,155
  • 6 members: $1,386
  • 7 members: $1,532
  • 8 members: $1.1751
  • Additional member: +$219

The Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) went up by 3 percent, and it became effective on October 1st.
