SpaceX has published a short video on exactly what the crew will do during their trip to space.

Though SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft can hold seven passengers, this crew is only made up of four 'astronauts,' who will spend less than a week in space before returning to Earth, landing off the coast of California. This will be the first time in space for some of the members of the crew, including Chun Wang, a cryptocurrency investor, who helped to finance the mission.

SpaceX has stated that the mission's goal is to "explore Earth from a polar orbit."

" They will also conduct 22 research studies designed to help advance humanity’s capabilities for long-duration space exploration and understanding of human health in space," explains SpaceX on their website.

Weather-related issues, primarily scattered thunderstorms, impacted their launch. Recent weather reports indicate that these storms have now moved out to sea and will not delay the launch scheduled for this evening.

The launch is scheduled for 9:46 pm ET and will depart from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. However, if SpaceX is not able to go forward, they have planned for a launch to take place tomorrow evening around 11:20 pm ET.
