Time Magazine’s past winners
Time magazine has been awarding this honor since 1927, recognising individuals, groups, or ideas that have had a significant impact on the world during the year.
The 2023 shortlist included Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and the Hollywood actors and writers who are on strike. The award is chosen for the person who had the most impact on the year and is not a popularity contest; previous winners includes Adolf Hitler in 1938 and Josef Stalin the following year.
