According to a recent report by HomeToGo, a global site that offers vacation rentals, some of the most popular summer destinations in the US can be found, unsurprisingly, in Florida.
HomeToGo’s ranking is based on the growth rate for traveler search demand. They looked at searches conducted from January to July for stays in July to August this year, and compared them to data covering the same period in 2022.

The most popular summer vacation destinations in the US in 2023
Number one on their list is Jacksonville Beach, located in northeastern Florida along the Atlantic Ocean. It boasts miles of pristine sandy shores and ocean waters, making it a popular destination for beachgoers, sunbathers, swimmers, and surfers. Searches for the area increased by 137% compared to last year.
In second place is Myrtle Beach, which can be found on the eastern coast of South Carolina. The place is renowned for its wide, sandy beaches that stretch for miles along the Atlantic Ocean.
The beach provides ample space for sunbathing, swimming, beach games, and water sports, and the area offers golf courses and state parks with hiking trails. There was a 130% increase in search demand for the beach town.

The third location on the list is Miramar Beach, which lies along the Gulf of Mexico in the Florida Panhandle. Search demand for this destination was up 125% compared to 2022. The place offers white sand beaches and clear emerald waters characteristic of the Gulf Coast.
