These are the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump on Inauguration Day in front of his supporters.

Live from the Capital One Arena, President Donald Trump signed a few executive orders in front of supporters. This media moment came after the events at the Capitol had ended for the afternoon. Some of the actions are in keeping with the agenda, while other components seem to be missing.

Withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords came on Day 1 of the administration.
Orders targeting the federal bureaucracy
The next order signed included a freeze on regulations and hiring across federal agencies. The military and a few other agencies are exempt from the hiring freeze, while the Internal Revanue Service will be severely limited. Trump also announced that federal employees would need to return to their offices. The order, posted on the new White House website, calls on “all departments and agencies in the executive branch to ”take all necessary steps to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person at their respective duty stations on a full-time basis."
Confusion over orders related to the economy
Despite some confusion in his delivery, Trump also indicated a desire to eliminate the taxation of tips, which would require action from Congress.
On the economy, Donald Trump vowed to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and called on federal agencies to see how they can help bring down prices. The action calls on agencies to “pursue” policies that could include those that would “eliminate unnecessary administrative expenses and rent-seeking practices that increase healthcare costs” or “lower the cost of housing and expand housing supply.” However, any structural fixes to increasing prices in sectors like housing and healthcare may require congressional action. Congressional Republicans have said they are working on a bill that would support the Trump agenda, but specifics are slim on what is being considered, as well as what could pass without Democratic votes and what can not.
Notably missing from the orders was the mention of tariffs imposed at the scale Trump had threatened since being elected. Instead, he mentioned that the word was beautiful but not as beautiful as “love,” “religion,” and “god.” Then, he launched into actions that would be taken on free speech.
Relitigating the 2020 election
He said he would look into the individuals serving time for crimes carried out on January 6th at the Capitol. He described them as “our great hostages” and argued that many “didn’t do stuff wrong.” The president said that the order pardoned some of the individuals, but the scale remains unclear.
The president also said he would be mandating all federal agencies to “preserve all records related to political persecutions” from the previous administration.
