Donald Trump is set to return to the White House after his victory in the general election. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for noon on Monday, January 20, in Washington, D.C. Preparations are underway in the capitol, as thousands are expected to attend, able to view the event from the National Mall.

State Department records indicate that the US inauguration is primarily a domestic event. However, the president-elect has opted to invite several foreign political leaders, predominantly from far-right parties or those who support the Republicans' agenda.

The world leaders that will attend Trump’s inauguration

Confirmed attendees at Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20 include Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentine President Javier Milei, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa. Although Trump extended an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping, he will send a high-level official instead, as he cannot attend due to timing conflicts. Additionally, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya will represent their countries at the ceremony.

Domestic guests from the private sector

Besides world leaders, the Republican party has also extended invitations to billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, all of whom have confirmed their participation. These tech moguls will be seated alongside Trump’s cabinet.
