This is a cortado: Starbuck’s new addition to its coffee lineup in 2025 | Ingredients, size and price
Named after the Basque classic style, the cortado is now a permanent fixture of Starbucks’ menu
Starbucks has introduced the cortado to its permanent espresso lineup in 2025, bringing a taste of Spanish coffee culture to its menu nationwide. This new beverage is a simple yet sophisticated espresso drink that perfectly balances rich espresso with steamed milk.
The cortado, derived from the Spanish verb “cortar” meaning “to cut,” is designed to soften the bold espresso flavor with a precise amount of milk.
Starbucks offers two distinct versions of this drink:
Starbucks uses ristretto shots, which are espresso shots pulled with less water, resulting in a more concentrated and sweeter flavor.
The cortado joins Starbucks’ classic espresso lineup and is available year-round across the United States and Canada.
