Even after her retirement, more than two decades ago, Turner’s incredible voice and era-defining songs remained amongst the most popular in the genre.
How did Tina Turner die?
Turner announced her retirement from music in 2000 after a career spanning five decades.
“I was just tired of singing and making everybody happy,” she said in an interview with New York Times in 2019. “That’s all I’d ever done in my life.”
She performed alongside Beyonce at the Grammy awards in 2008, marking 50 years since her on-stage debut, but has not returned to the stage since.

Why did Tina Turner move to Switzerland?
In recent years she had suffered with health issues. In 2016 she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer and she received a kidney transplant in 2017.
The statement from her spokesperson confirmed that her long battle with ill health had been the cause of the icon’s death.
