Update:

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he ordered another “kinetic” strike on Venezuelan narcoterroists carrying illegal drugs headed for the United States.

In his post on social media, which included an unclassified video, he confirmed that on Monday morning “3 male terrorists” were killed and that no US forces were harmed.

“WE ARE HUNTING YOU”

Trump did not divulge the exact location of the attack, only that it was carried out in international waters by American forces in the US Southern Command area of responsibility.

This is the second such strike in two weeks “against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels.” He stated in his Truth Social post that they “POSE A THREAT to US National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital US interests.”

He added: “BE WARNED – IF YOU ARE TRANSPORTING DRUGS THAT KILL AMERICANS, WE ARE HUNTING YOU!”

This is just the latest escalation in tensions between the two nations as the US carries out its “counter narco-terror operations” to crackdown on illegal drug smuggling.

The US Coast Guard acknowledge over the weekend that service members, following up on a tip, had boarded a Venezuelan fishing boat on Friday searching for drugs. Caracas condemned the action, calling it “a direct provocation,” and said that the vessel was within Venezuela’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

A US official disputed this telling ABC News that the boat was in international waters. No drugs were found on the craft during the eight-hour search.
