Trump losing support from MAGA base as prices surge across the country during first six months of presidency

Donald Trump’s own voters have finally had enough of the false promise to make America ‘great again’.

Update:

Despite creating higher prices for goods, making daily public embarrassments in front of the media, suffering numerous allegations of mistreatment of women, implementing seemingly racist foreign policies, turning immigration forces into a quasi-Gestapo, revoking the status of legal citizens, ignoring judges, appointing former FOX talking heads to government, failing to deliver on promises to reveal ‘deep state’ secrets, and slicing healthcare, education, and pensions while cutting billionaire taxes, Donald Trump is seeing his support among Republican voters spiral.

He’s even managed to lose FOX News, which has had enough. The Rupert Murdoch-owned pipeline of right-wing jello opened their latest report on Trump’s economics with the following lines:

“The defining promise of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign was lower costs on “Day One.” He broke it. The first six months of this administration have been marked by ever-higher prices."

The same report explains how swing voters opted for Trump on the promise of lower prices, and that “the anger runs deep” now given his lack of effort/ability/desire [circle your favourite] to do something about the money in the pockets of hard-working American citizens drying up.

FOX News is scathing in its openness about the little change to life for ordinary citizens, writing: “Washington’s economic agenda is making the American Dream unaffordable... our neighbours are paying more and getting less.”

Shops have raised prices to deal with Trump’s tariffs which, despite what he will tell you, are paid for by the importing companies who pass on the increased costs to the consumer. Americans are using Buy Now, Pay Later to buy groceries to feed their children, and while they’re doing so, Trump is too busy focussing on rolling the word ‘groceries’ around in his mouth like a toothless dementia patient with a Tootsie Roll.

And what’s worse is that this may just be the start: a recession could be on the horizon if the tariff plan doesn’t get siphoned off or toned down. But a more natural tone is not something Trump does well, and America’s largest border nation is set to be slapped with a 35% tariff on all goods not covered by the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), up 25% from just last month. Uncertainty of a situation is the one thing banks hate, which is another reason why it’s money, not illegal immigrants, making their way in huge numbers over the border.
