The products were produced on the 26th and 27th of April, giving customers a timeline as to when they could have purchased a contaminated product. If you have one of these products in your fridge, throw it away. It is never worth the risk of infection by consuming contaminated food products.

What are the symptoms of E. coli?

So far, no cases of E. coli have been reported, but those who may have consumed one of the affected products should keep an eye out for symptoms which include:

  • dehydration
  • bloody diarrhea
  • abdominal cramps 2-8 days (3-4 days, on average)

The threat to young children and older adults is highest as they are more susceptible to kidney failure that can be caused by the E. coli bacteria called hemolytic uremic syndrome. Emergency medical assistance should be sought if the following symptoms are noticed: easy bruising, pallor, and decreased urine output.
