The former president of the United States Donald Trump is facing down three separate criminal cases, two of them federal. He was arraigned in a court in Washington D.C. on federal charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

He flew to the capital using his own personal plane.

Air Force Trump takes its name from another moniker, Trump Force One, the name given to all aircraft in which the President of the United States travels. Trump decided to name his plane that way before he became president and it was a symbol during his 2016 election campaign in which he defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.

What is Trump's private plane like?

The Air Force Trump is a Boeing 757 that the former Republican president bought in 2011 to replace his old aircraft, a Boeing 727. The current one has a VIP configuration to transport 43 passengers and has rooms such as a dining room, a bathroom with shower, a master bedroom and others for guests. It also has a conference and meeting room.

Each of the plane’s seats has a television and the seats are gold-plated. There is also a spacious area with a table and sofas that is used for dining, although the jewel in the crown may be the main room, and a lounge with a 57-inch television. It has two sofas that convert into a bed for those longer flights. The en-suite bathroom has a 24-karat gold-plated tap.

Trump Force One has two pilots but their identities are unknown.

How much did the plane cost?

According to Business Insider, the plane cost $100 million to buy and retrofit. It was recently updated in 2019.

What is the number on the tail?

The Boeing 757-200 is registered in the United States as N757AF, corresponding to the ICAO hexadecimal AA3410.
