On Thursday night, Elon Musk announced that he had hired a new CEO for Twitter who would take over his job in six weeks. On Friday, he finally revealed that his replacement would be Linda Yaccarino.
What will Elon Musk’s role in Twitter be after the arrival of the new CEO?
According to Musk, he will become executive chair and chief technology officer, overseeing the product, software, and operating systems, after Yaccarino’s arrival. The billionaire also clarified that Yaccarino will focus on business operations, while he will focus “on product design and new technologies.”

Who is Linda Yaccarino, the next CEO of Twitter?
Yaccarino is the former head of publicity for NBCUniversal. The company announced her departure in a press release, saying it would take effect immediately.
“It has been an absolute honor to be a part of Comcast NBCUniversal and lead the most incredible team,” said Yaccarino in the press release.
“We have transformed our company and the entire industry, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful to my colleagues and mentors, especially Brian Roberts, Mike Cavanagh and the entire NBCU leadership team,” she added, according to NBC News.

According to the media company, Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal in 2011. She was tasked with overseeing “one of the largest advertising portfolios in US media” including broadcast and cable television, various media outlets, news and, more recently, the company’s digital platforms, including Peacock.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Yaccarino has also participated in the World Economic Forum, where she chairs the organization’s task force on the future of work and sits on the steering committee of leaders of the industry.
Yaccarino has also partnered with the government on several occasions. She worked with government agencies, the White House and Pope Francis to produce a covid-19 vaccination campaign in her role as president of the non-profit advertising group Ad Council.
