Who are King Charles III of England’s grandchildren? What are their names and the family tree?
The King of England has five grandchildren. Three are from the marriage of his son William to Kate Middleton, while the other two are from Harry and Meghan Markle.
On Saturday, May 6, one of the most anticipated events of the year will take place: the coronation of Charles III as King of England. It’s time to review the family tree of the British Royal Family.
The British monarch has five grandchildren. The first three come from the marriage of his son William and Kate Middleton, while the remaining two come from the couple formed by Harry and Meghan Markle. The five grandchildren of King Charles III are:
Prince George
He is the eldest son of William of England, Prince of Wales. He is second in line to the throne. He is nine years old and is the eldest of William and Kate Middleton’s three children. He is known as George Cambridge at the school he attends in Kensington, but his classmates call him PG, for Prince George.
Princess Charlotte
She is seven years old. She is the second of the three children of Prince William and Kate. She occupies the third place in the line of succession, making her the first woman to pass ahead of a male brother in the United Kingdom, her brother Louis, as an heir, thanks to the modification of the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013.
Prince Louis Arthur Charles
He was named after Lord Louis Mountbatten, uncle of the Duke of Edinburgh and confidant of Charles of England, who was assassinated by the IRA in August 1979 in Mullaghmore, Ireland. He is the youngest son of William and Kate Middleton. He is five years old and is fourth in line to the throne.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor
He is the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He is four years old. He is sixth in line to the throne. With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become grandchildren of the monarch, as King Charles III is their grandfather, who has granted a new Royal Patent that declares them princes, but will not grant them the status of His Royal Highness (H.R.H). He will not be present at his grandfather’s coronation as King of England.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor
She is the second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Her full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, after the childhood nickname of Queen Elizabeth, but she will be simply called Lili. Her name also carries the name of her maternal grandmother, Diana. She is almost two years old. Like her brother, she will not attend Charles III’s coronation as King of England.
