Who are the two men arrested for planning a terrorist attack in the Taylor Swift concert in Vienna?

In a press conference, police said they arrested a 19-year-old citizen of Austria in Ternitz, a town in the state of Lower Austria. The man allegedly pledged allegiance to the terrorist group, ISIS. During the arrest, police searched his house and some houses in the vicinity were evacuated.

A bomb squad reportedly found some chemical substances in the suspect’s home, which authorities were still examining to see if they could be used to create a bomb.

Another man was later arrested in Vienna. Both suspects were said to have become radicalized by the internet.

Officials said although they believe the two men might not have had all they needed to build a bomb, they arrested them to ensure they wouldn’t resort to another form of attack.

U.S. officials briefed on the mater said the two had specific and detailed plans on how to execute the attack. They added that Austrian officials were already aware of the pair and had kept them under surveillance for a period of time.

Authorities continue to investigate the matter.
