Will Costco be open during Memorial Day 2025?
On Monday, May 26, the United States will celebrate the national holiday Memorial Day so shoppers want to know where they can go.

Every year, on the last Monday in May, The United States celebrates the national holiday Memorial Day. This 2025, it is commemorated on Monday, May 26.
Originally, Memorial Day only honored those who died in the Civil War, but after World War I this changed. Since then, on Memorial Day all those who have died serving in the US Armed Forces are remembered.
Memorial Day is one of 11 permanent federal holidays in the United States. Being a national holiday, government offices, as well as post offices, libraries, schools, the stock exchange and banks generally remain closed, but what about supermarkets? Will Costo be open?
Costco closed for Memorial Day 2025
Not all federal holidays are observed in supermarkets. In the case of Memorial Day, most stores remain open, although hours may vary from one branch to another.
Many of the stores take advantage of the long holiday weekend to offer deals, promotions and discounts on certain items, which is why they remain open during Memorial Day.
However, Costco, one of the country’s warehouse chains, celebrates more holidays than other supermarkets and will be closed on Memorial Day.
According to their holiday calendar, stores in the United States are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
