Update:
Marvel's Predator comic: release date and a brutal cover with Predator vs Iron Man

Predator, the cinematic legendary alien hunter, is coming to the pages of Marvel Comics through a new collection titled Predator #1 by writer Ed Brisson (Deadpool: Black, Sinister War) and cartoonist Kev Walker (Timeless) following the acquisition of both Alien and Predator rights in July 2020. A new original story that will be a "violent, heartbreaking and unforgettable new chapter in the Predator saga not to be missed", according to its creators.

Marvel wanted to celebrate the arrival of this new story as part of its lineup with a mind-blowing and brutal alternate cover featuring a Predator holding the decapitated head of Iron Man at the top of the Avengers tower, which you can see below.

Predator comes to Marvel: will it hunt down the Avengers?

Of course, a Predator crossover with the Avengers would be a blast and now that Marvel can do it, they've already offered fans an alternate cover that could very well become a reality in the future. For now, Predator #1 takes us to a near future where a young girl named Theta is chasing a Predator who has murdered her family.

Full screen

I've been obsessed with Predator since first seeing the film at the drive-in theater as a kid," says screenwriter Ed Brisson. "I can still remember sitting there in horrified fascination and then acting out the movie for my classmates the following week at school. I bought the VHS and wore the hell out of the tape. Getting to write the characters launch for Marvel is a dream come true. When they offered me the gig, I already had a million ideas ready to go."

“Not only am I excited to write a Predator book, but I'm doubly excited to be working with Kev Walker on the series,” commented Brisson. “The pages he's turned in so far and mind-blowing. He's delivered awe-inspiring alien planets; huge, blood-pumping action scenes: and devastatingly emotional beats all in the space of the first issue. I really think we're making something quite special here.”

Marvel's Predator #1 comic book will go on sale in the United States on July 6, 2022.
