Impossible binge-watching
Stranger Things 4: length of season 4 episodes confirmed, will be like nine movies
Stranger Things 4 episodes will all exceed 60 minutes in length, there will be a couple of hour and a half episodes and a final 2.5 hour episode.
Stranger Things has been dragging its feet for over three years, but it looks like it will compensate us with plenty. The fourth season of the series will premiere this May 27, 2022 and Netflix has already revealed the length of the nine episodes that compose it. Sorry, did we say episodes? We meant movies! Because this fourth season of Stranger Things will last a whopping 13 hours. No episode is under 60 minutes, two are around an hour and a half and its season finale amounts to 2.5 hours. No matter how much binge-watching we have planned, it seems that this time it will not be so easy to finish the series during a weekend. Check it out for yourselves:
Stranger Things season 4: all episodes' lengths
Stranger Things 4 is divided into two parts
The keenest observers will have noticed that this fourth season has 9 episodes instead of the usual 8, but that won't be the only change. Netflix will split it into two volumes that will be released separately. Volume 1 will consist of the first 7 episodes and will be released this May 27, but until July 1 will not see the light of the final 2 chapters that comprise Volume 2. The Duffer brothers want to make the closing an event and it is not for less, since they have invested 30 million dollars per episode. Do the math.
In any case, this fourth season will not mean the definitive goodbye to Stranger Things. Netflix's star series still has a season 5 on the horizon. "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons,” the creators recently acknowledged. “it proved too large to tell in four, but – as you’ll soon see for yourselves – we are hurtling toward our finale. Season 5 will be the last.”
