Several Nintendo sagas have been dormant for years. During the course of the shareholders' meeting, president Shuntaro Furukawa had to answer some questions asked by investors. He was asked about the possibility of developing sequels or remakes of somewhat forgotten products such as F-Zero or Wario Land in the future. The answer is that they cannot devote efforts to everything that fans ask for, although they open the door to hope and recall that some such titles were already in development when gamers raised their voices.

“It is realistically difficult to develop new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game that people request, but we are very grateful and appreciate the expectations our fans have for our games,” Furukawa responded.

What goes on in secret

Shinya Takahashi, another of the Japanese company's executives, answered the same question and recalled that in the past they have been asked for remakes that were already in development, albeit secretly. "We are always considering how to develop new titles and remakes that can be enjoyed by many players,."

During the 2019 regular shareholders' meeting (the 79th), someone asked if Nintendo had plans to develop a remake of the Famicom Detective Club saga. "at that time, we happened to be planning a remake. That is an example where we were already actively developing such a title. We cannot tell you if there are any plans for future remakes of any specific game, but, during development, we are always thinking about various possibilities that players can enjoy.”

With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, much has been said about the rumored remake of the trilogy or the first Metroid Prime. For the moment, Nintendo has not officially announced it, so we will have to wait to find out if it materializes or not.

The last title of the Wario Land saga (The Shake Dimension) was released on Wii. On the other hand, F-Zero Climax (GBA) is the most recent game of this dizzying speed saga.
