Konami confirms the return of the Silent Hill saga: its future to be revealed this week

The Japanese company announces that they will officially detail the new developments of their acclaimed survival horror saga next Wednesday afternoon.

Update:
Konami confirms the return of the Silent Hill saga: its future to be revealed this week

After years of rumors, leaks, and speculation, everything seems to indicate that the cursed place known as Silent Hill will return. “In your restless dreams, do you see that town?” is how Konami began their tweet on the Silent Hill official account last afternoon. Konami has announced that it will offer news about the saga next Wednesday, October 19t.

Although there is nothing concrete for now, Silent Hill fans will be able to take a breather after several years in which the series was completely dormant. Despite the saga's silence -no pun intended- the promise of the series' return was a constant throughout the multiple rumors that the series had over the years.

What time is the event about the future of Silent Hill?

The tweet leads directly to the Silent Hill website, where the viewer is asked to enter their date of birth in order to verify their age. We assume that the stream or video will be posted on the page, but it has not been specified whether it will be available to follow on the Twitch or YouTube channel.

The broadcast will begin at the following times in the United States:

  • 2:00 PM PT
  • 4:00 PM CT
  • 5:00 PM ET

Bloober Team and Konami closed a collaboration agreement and it is taken for granted that they are working on a new Silent Hill. However, rumor has it that there is no single project in development. For now, the closest we have had to the announcement of a new title in the franchise was a few weeks ago with the appearance of Silent Hill: The Short Message at the age rating agency in South Korea. Nothing is known about the development studio or the nature of the project, so we will have to wait until Konami pronounces itself in one direction or another.
