Marvel and EA reveal a multi-title collaboration, with Iron Man being one of three games to come

Electronic Arts will be attached to Marvel for more than one game. The company confirmed that a deal with The House of Ideas will have a reach of three titles for now, all of them “action-adventure games consoles and PC.” Very few details have been offered, except for the fact that each of these games will have an original story set in the Marvel Universe.

“We look forward to welcoming Marvel into the EA family of creators and know this collaboration will produce exceptional experiences for our players,” said Laura Miele, COO of EA. “We can’t wait to see players' reactions when they suit up as Iron Man and do the extraordinary things this Super Hero is known for.”

Iron Man is the first one to suit up

The devs behind the Dead Space Remake (and the excellent Star Wars Squadrons) will be the team in charge of bringing to life the first game of this relationship, starring none other that Iron Man. EA Motive is working on “an original narrative that taps into the rich history of the character, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man”.

While there are still months or years to go before we’re able to see the game in action, the studio confirmed that the development cycle is still in the pre-production phase. During this time, the team is working to create the first playable showcase that will eventually evolve into a fully fledged action-adventure game.

The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who recently worked with Marvel in the Guardians of the Galaxy game developed by Eidos-Montreal. “It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today,” he said. “We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team.”
