Star Wars shows off Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew in a TV Spot

After The Book of Boba Fett, Disney+ is launching two new Star Wars Spin-offs (apart from The Mandalorian) during 2023.

Update:
Star Wars shows off Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew in a TV Spot

A whole year full of Star Wars content is almost here. Lucasfilm is continuing to work in a variety of projects related to the galactic series, some of which will begin to be aired at the start of 2023. Two of those series debuting on Disney+ are Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, both of which are considered to be spin-offs originating from The Mandalorian. They were shown briefly in a TV Spot for the streaming platform.

The leaked video isn’t the same one that was eventually posted on Disney+ Social media. It’s a bit worrying that the Skeleton Crew footage was omitted in the final release, especially when the video’s goal is to pull in new audiences by hinting at what new content is to come. In any case, the spot revealed Jude Law’s character putting on a hood, perhaps trying to be sneaky.

The project has been previously described as a sort of “Stranger Things” in the Star Wars universe, so we can expect a group of kids to be part of the main cast.

Ahsoka and Anakin, together again?

As for Star Wars: Ahsoka, guests of Star Wars Celebration 2022 were able to enjoy the first trailer during the event, and although it leaked online said trailer has not yet been released to the general public. The footage in this spot shows Anakin Skywalker’s former apprentice Ahsoka, here played by Rosario Dawson, taking off her hood.

Ahsoka came back through animation thanks to the Tales of the Jedi shorts. In the live-action series, the former Jedi will travel the galaxy in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, right hand of Emperor Palpatine alongside Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin. According to leaks, the series will let us see Ahsoka during different moments of her life, including next to Hayden Christensen’s Anakin/Darth Vader.

How’s the Star Wars schedule looking for 2023? We start the year running with the second season of The Bad Batch, releasing on January 4, 2023. On March 1st, The Mandalorian returns with its long awaited third season. Further ahead in the year we’ll also get Young Jedi Adventures - a children's animated series that takes place during the High Republic Era - as well as Star Wars: Visions 2. While still not confirmed, Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka are still expected to come out during next year.
