The Last of Us co-creator advised the cast of the series not to play the games

The series based on Naughty Dog's hit video game, The Last of Us, premiered its second episode on HBO Max this past weekend. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey star as Joel and Ellie, the two protagonists of the video game. However, Neil Druckmann advised all the actors not to look at the games. He revealed this in the latest episode of the podcast dedicated to the series.

The creative has pointed out that he preferred that "we wanted Pedro and Bella and everyone else that’s a part of the cast to make it their own." The series shares many elements with the video game, as is logical, but also delves into other aspects that were not present in the original work. “And that’s why it’s like, trust us that we put everything on the page that needs to be there. We’re not asking you to replicate anything else, because great performances come from the inside not from the outside.

Bella Ramsey talks about a possible second season

The first season of The Last of Us covers the entire first game, meaning that a second batch of episodes would have to pick up where The Last of Us Part 2 left off. Speaking to BBC, Bella Ramsey said that "If people keep watching," it is "I think is pretty likely."
