New Pokémon anime already has a premiere date in Japan

Liko and Roy, the new protagonists of the Pokémon anime already have a date to begin their adventures in the Paldea region. Although it had previously been announced that this series would arrive in April 2023, The Pokémon Company has been more specific, giving the Japanese premiere date as April 14.

Through social media, The Pokémon Company released a short animated video with information about Liko, the new protagonist who will continue the legacy of exploring the Pokémon world. The video reveals that Liko is originally from the Paldea region and possesses a strange pendant. We don't know much about Roy yet, but expect more information to be revealed in the coming days. You can check out the video below:

The main characters will be joined by Paldea's Starter Pokémon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, protagonists of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, as well as the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in its Shiny form. For now, there are no further details on what to expect in this new series.

Farewell to the champion

For now, we are in the final stretch of Ash Ketchum and Pikcahu's adventures after more than 20 years together in the Pokémon world. Currently in Japan, the series Pokemon: Aim to Be a Pokemon Master, an 11-episode special arc that reunites the Pallet Town champion with characters from his past, including their first travel companions, Misty and Brock. Most recently, Ash was reunited with his Squirtle and the famous Squirtle Squad.

The closing of Ash and Pikachu's journey after more than 1300 episodes is also the point at which the Pokémon franchise hits 9 regions and reaches an astounding 1008 Pokémon in the Pokédex. Don't miss the special video released earlier this year by the Pokémon Company to celebrate all the Pokémon.
