Nintendo Switch Online gives Metroid Fusion a release date

Subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass service will soon be able to enjoy Metroid Fusion, one of the GBA’s greatest titles.

Update:
Nintendo Switch Online gives Metroid Fusion a release date

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers have access to a select catalog of Game Boy Advance games. As is the case of the rest of the platforms (NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, and Mega Drive), the company continues to add titles periodically, with an irregular cadence. The next to join will be one of the most beloved video games on the GBA, nothing less than Metroid Fusion. When? March 9.

Metroid Fusion is a game based on narrative without giving up the fundamentals that made the franchise successful. Samus Aran and the Galactic Federation face a dangerous new threat, the X parasite. This specimen feeds on the body of its victims and spreads rapidly, though Samus is saved from death because the Federation manipulates the DNA of a Metroid hatchling to cure her.

What games are currently in the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance catalog?

  • Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania
  • Kuru Kuru Kururin
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

In addition to Metroid Fusion, among the games that will be released soon are Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero Maximum Velocity, and Golden Sun.

The annual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack costs $49.99 (individual) or $79.99 (family). Nintendo Switch Online Basic Membership only includes NES, SNES, and Game Boy, but its price is also lower: $19.99 (individual) and $34.99 (family).
