A Hollow Knight: Silksong release date seems imminent after a new listing appears

The appearance of a new listing for Hollow Knight: Silksong has shaken the wasp nest, with fans wondering if it means we’re getting some long-awaited news soon.

The competition for GOTY 2024 could be much stranger than expected, since two heavyweights that no one counted on until recently are now getting in range of joining the fight. One is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, although it would be necessary to see if an expansion or DLC has the right to win it. The other is one of the most anticipated games of the decade: Silksong, the sequel to Hollow Knight.

Recently, Team Cherry made some updates to the game’s file on Steam’s back-end, which wouldn’t be that impressive had the last change not been made almost a year ago. But what’s got fans agitated and excited about a possible release date announcement is the fact that Microsoft quietly added Hollow Knight: Silksong to the Xbox storefront. You can now wishlist the game on Xbox, as it now has an official page.

While the store appeared on April 1st, it can be said that it is not an April Fools’ Day joke, since the game listing is still in the Xbox store and can be added to your wishlist normally. Furthermore, it is worth remembering that Silksong will be released day 1 on Xbox Game Pass. Now we just need to know exactly what day...

Hollow Knight, one of the best Metroidvanias in history

Word of mouth and the passage of years have elevated Hollow Knight, the adventure of The Knight in the afflicted kingdom of Hallownest, to becoming one of the biggest in the genre. It is a much-loved title due to the design of its world, the enemies, bosses, the sad tone of the story, and much more, without forgetting its captivating art direction. You can play it on all current platforms: Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam).

As for Hollow Knight: Silksong, Team Cherry began development as an expansion to the original game, although the project ended up being so big that it ended up becoming a sequel starring one of Hallownest’s most special characters: Hornet. This time, the adventure will take place in a completely new kingdom, in which you will have to face more than 150 new types of enemies.
