Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty blows all expectations away with its 2.0 gameplay update

CD Projekt RED unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, their upcoming expansion that looks to revolutionize almost every aspect of the game.

Developed by more than 350 people over the past three years, Phantom Liberty is the expansion of the year and maybe even something else. Because this massive DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 looks more overwhelming with each new trailer, and the one for the Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live is going to have us climbing up the walls until the launch of the game, scheduled for September 23, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (yes, only current-gen, CD Projekt has learned from its mistakes).

Phantom Liberty will feature a spy-thriller-like story in which we will visit a new district of Night City, Dogtown. We will, yes accompanied by Keanu Reeves (returning as Johnny Silverhand) but also with new characters like Solomon Reed, who will be played by Idris Elba himself.

This update will also affect base users of Cyberpunk 2077 because the game practically will be transformed into version 2.0 in which a lot of the gameplay has been updated and redesigned.

The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is already announced

The fact that Phantom Liberty is not the end has already been confirmed by CD Projekt themselves. The company revealed at the time that it was working on 5 New Witcher Games and in the second part of Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, they even assured fans that it will be “a sequel that will demonstrate all the power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe”.

The project will is being developed as part of the core studio (that is, CD Projekt RED) and is known behind the scenes with the codename of Project Orion, but it is still in an embryonic state and is going to be some time before we get any solid news.
