Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: what is the max level in the game?

With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth out already, some are wondering how much grinding they’ll have to do to reach the max level. Here’s what we know.

Update:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: what is the max level in the game?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is finally out, and with it comes the continuation of the story restarted by FFVII Remake. But while we were able to level up to 50 in said title, it turns out that things are a bit different this time around.

To begin with, levels are not carried over from the previous title. Instead, Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII will begin the game on level 15. This means that there will still be a challenge when players dive into the open world and its many side-quests and activities. Additionally, the level cap has been raised significantly this time around: in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the max level you can achieve is 70.

There is quite a lot of power to obtain throughout the game’s extremely lengthy campaign, so it’ll take you a while to reach the max level. In fact, there’s a chance that you’ll need to complete the main story and head on over to Hard Mode to get an XP bonus, as Easy, Normal, and Dynamic might not give you enough XP to reach such growth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is finally here

Thanks to Square Enix, we here at MeriStation also got to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth ahead of its release. In our review we delved deep into the best parts of the game, but didn’t shy away from calling out some of the biggest issues with the title as well. We stated that “when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is at its best, it shines brighter than many other titles currently on the market. Its production values are unimaginably high, with fantastic graphics and highly detailed models that beautifully render classic characters in a whole new light. Its combat is absolutely thrilling when it takes place in a well-paced dungeon, and the 4-act format to boss encounters is back to keep you on your toes with some of the most involved fights RPGs have ever had.”
