Final trailer for ‘Thunderbolts’: Marvel unleashes its heavy artillery with its own ‘dark Superman’
Marvel Studios’ latest film presents its definitive trailer just weeks before its theatrical release: Is Sentry as powerful as he seems?

‘Thunderbolts,’ the newest Marvel Studios movie within the MCU, has unveiled its spectacular final trailer: a shorter-than-usual preview packed with exciting revelations. For the first time, we see Sentry in action, a flying superhuman with powers akin to DC’s Superman but with a much darker and more unsettling backstory. Marvel introduced the character through its official channels, emphasizing that “the planet’s greatest threat requires the world’s best team*,” complete with an asterisk. After all, the Thunderbolts are not the Avengers.
Marvel’s new team of misfits
With ’Captain America: Brave New World’ wrapping up its theatrical run, Marvel Studios has shifted its promotional focus to ’Thunderbolts,’ while ’Daredevil Born Again’ nears its conclusion on Disney+. Directed by Jake Schreier—known for his work on Netflix’s ’Beef‘—this new film centers on the MCU’s antiheroes as they face humanity’s latest threat. And this time, the Avengers won’t be there to save the day.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine acknowledges that the world is facing a new menace it cannot handle. To combat this, she assembles an unconventional team consisting of Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Taskmaster, Ghost, and John Walker. Together, they must confront Sentry, also known as The Void.
“These outcasts must embark on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront the darkest corners of their past. Will this dysfunctional group fall apart, or will they find redemption and unite to become something far greater before it’s too late?” Marvel Studios teases.
‘Thunderbolts’ premieres in theaters on April 30.
