It’s not out yet, but someone has already beaten Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch 2

Take Boss Rush to the next level in The Legend of Zelda.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will come with an expanded edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when it launches on June 5. But even though its release is still a little over a month away, someone can already boast of being the first person to finish this version of the game.

Renowned Japanese speedrunner Ikaboze has pulled off an impressive feat by completing Breath of the Wild in its version for the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2. Ikaboze recently attended a test event for the new console in Tokyo and used his in-depth knowledge of the game to defeat Ganon without using any equipment. (via Nintendo Insider)

Each console test session lasted only 10 minutes, so time was very limited. Ikaboze used a saved game just outside Hyrule Castle, and surprisingly, it took him less than half that time to reach the end credits. As expected, there is a video of his achievement, showing him making his way through the castle and shedding all of his main equipment before taking on the fearsome Ganon.

The Legend of Zelda will receive enhanced versions for Nintendo Switch 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are two of the games that will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with graphical and performance improvements. However, Nintendo has clarified that it’s not all good news: the Breath of the Wild edition will not include the DLC expansion pack.

Those who do not own a previous copy of Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and want to purchase the edition for the new console will have to pay $70 USD for the base game and an additional $20 USD if they want the full pack with additional content. It should be noted, however, that both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be available in their enhanced editions at no additional cost to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.
