James Gunn wraps ‘Superman’ filming with a touching message
“I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much”

It feels like yesterday, but it’s been 5 months since filming began on Superman, the cornerstone of the new DC Cinematic Universe helmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Those months have passed quickly, as its director has announced that the film has officially wrapped.
Through his social media accounts, James Gunn published a touching message of farewell and thanks to the cast and crew that accompanied him along the way. The publication is accompanied by an interesting memory, with a photo of the first week of filming in Svalbard, Norway.
And that’s a wrap.

God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life. I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis… pic.twitter.com/9Y52HEVXpF
“I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much,” wrote Gunn. “The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set - and for that I am forever grateful.”

We’re less than a year away from the film’s release, and while James Gunn has been kind enough to share previews and details about the movie on social media, fans have been waiting for a teaser to let them know more about the last son of Krypton. Unfortunately, the filming, which wrapped today, meant that the director was unable to attend San Diego Comic-Con in person to present a portion of the film. However, he was on hand via video to unveil the DC Studios logo, which revisits one of the publisher’s classic logos.
