David Corenswet becomes Superman in the first photo in the suit

It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s the new Man of Steel played by David Corenswet.

Update:

James Gunn, director of ‘Superman Legacy’ and the mastermind behind the DCEU reboot along with Peter Safran, took to social media to reveal what many fans have been waiting for: the first image of David Corenswet in the new Superman costume. This is our first official look at this version of the superhero, but also at the first movie in this franchise.

This is the first picture of David Corenswet as Superman

Via his Instagram account, James Gunn shared the image with the simple caption, “Get ready. #Superman 7.11.25.” The image shows the actor putting on one of the suit’s boots, while a giant pink and white ball throws a powerful bolt of lightning across the city, appears in the background.

Among the details, the new shield on the chest, taken from the comic book Kingdom Come, stands out, as well as the return of the red underpants, a more than classic detail in the iconography of some DC Comics’s heroes.

David Corenswet and his impressive physical transformation

As part of his preparation for the role of the last son of Krypton, David Corenswet has been working on his physique for the past year and has shown impressive muscle growth since taking over from Henry Cavill. He was recently spotted in Mexico participating in a commercial or photo shoot that shows the big change he has undergone, including dyeing his hair black to look closer to Clark Kent.

The release date for ‘Superman Legacy’ is still a long way off on the calendar, as it is scheduled for July 11, 2025, as the first film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU and the kick-off of its first phase, called Gods and Monsters.
