‘Joker’ to be next spin-off series in ‘Batman’ universe following success of ‘The Penguin

It would come out after the second installment of the saga, connect with the third and make Barry Keoghan Robert Pattinson’s final villain.

We have been recommending it for a long time. The Penguin’ is HBO’s best show in years and has already garnered so many accolades and so many viewers that Warner Bros. is starting to regret the canceled spin-offs of the ‘Batman’ universe. Matt Reeves, the director of the movie that gave the reins to everything, Robert Pattinson’s Batman, confirmed this week that he is in talks to make new series of the Bat and everything points to the fact that his big bet has been leaked.

The InSnider reports that Reeves wants to do the same thing he did with ‘The Penguin’, namely a series connecting two movies in the saga. The Colin Farrell spin-off is described as “the gateway to ‘The Batman 2′” and the director wants a Joker series between the sequel and ‘The Batman 3′. Considering that the second part of the saga won’t be released until October 2, 2026, we’re talking about a very long-term project.

In any case, Reeves has made it clear that he wants Barry Keoghan to play the Joker, and rumors go further to suggest that he could be the big villain to end the trilogy with. This has a good and a bad side. The good is that there will be a spin-off about the Clown Prince of Crime. The bad? That he will have as little to do in ‘The Batman 2′ as he did in the first movie. Who will be the villains in the sequel? And what will happen to Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman, is she definitely out of the series?
