Pokémon TCG Pocket sets card trade date and reveals two new system limitations
Trades will be limited to the use of two new items.

Pokémon TCG Pocket delivers as promised, with two major new features arriving in the remainder of January. We know that the new expansion will take us to Sinnoh with Palkia and Dialga as protagonists. On the other hand, the trading system has a confirmed release date. We won’t have to wait long to trade cards with our friends, although two new restrictions have been added.
When will trading be coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket?
The Trading System will arrive in Pokémon TCG Pocket on January 29th, just one day before the launch of the new expansion, Space-Time Smackdown.

These are the requirements for trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket
- Trades can only be made between friends.
- Trade cards must be of the same rarity.
- Tradeable cards are standard rarities between levels 1 and 4. Cards of level 1 star rarity can also be traded.
- Two items must be consumed to complete the trade: hourglasses and trade tokens.
- At launch, only cards that are part of the Genetic Apex and Mythic Island expansions can be exchanged. New neighborhoods will be added later.
At the time of writing, it is not known how to obtain the Exchange Clocks and Exchange Tokens. These are two previously unreleased items for which there is no indication of how to obtain them. From what the images suggest, the tokens will regenerate just like the ones needed for the Wonder Picks. In the Raichu example, we can see that it takes one token and 120 Watches to get it. This new limit will stop the massive trading of cards.
