Naruto 20th Anniversary 4-episode anime to be delayed to “increase quality”

The long-awaited return of Naruto and friends to celebrate their 20th anniversary would have been in early September.

It has been a long wait, and it will be a little longer. Studio Pierrot has decided to postpone the previously announced 4 episodes of Naruto to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime in order to “improve quality”. No new release date has been announced yet.

The announcement was made via the series’ social media, where the Naruto Production Committee announced the delay. In their statement, the committee apologizes to the fans and mentions that the extra time will be used to “improve the quality” of the product, which they are returning to after 6 years and 5 months. “We will do our best to create a work that meets everyone’s expectations, so we appreciate your understanding,” they mention in the statement.

The first of these episodes was scheduled to premiere on September 3, with the following episodes arriving in the following weeks. For now, the studio mentioned that the new date will be announced on the official website and social media “as soon as it is decided”.

A Big Naruto Celebration

Even though the Naruto saga ended a few years ago and is more focused on his son Boruto, the saga had a summer focused on celebrating one of its most important Shonen in history. Just a few weeks ago, Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto’s father, released Naruto: The Whorl within the Spiral, a spin-off based on Minato Namikaze, better known as the Fourth Hokage. Fortunately, this one had no delays and you can read it here. And talking about Boruto, also a few weeks ago Boruto returned with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, a time-skip with more adult characters and plotlines.

Where can I watch Naruto?
