Oblivion Remastered: How to level up fast & the best trick to do it
Fast-track your progression with this powerful XP-boosting trick!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered introduces a completely revamped leveling system, blending elements from the original Oblivion with modern mechanics inspired by Skyrim. Unlike the 2006 version, leveling is now tied to both Major and Minor skills, meaning every skill increase contributes to your overall level progression.

How leveling works in Oblivion Remastered
- Major Skills provide significantly more XP toward leveling up.
- Minor Skills also contribute XP, but at a much lower rate (usually less than 1/10 of a level progression bar).
- Virtue Points replace traditional attribute bonuses—each level grants 12 points to distribute among Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, Agility, Speed, Endurance, Personality, and Luck.
- Skill Books scattered throughout the game provide free skill increases, which directly contribute to leveling.
Best trick to level up quickly
Players have discovered an effective leveling trick that takes advantage of the Peryite’s Shrine XP glitch. Here’s how it works:
- Travel to Peryite’s Shrine, located east of Niben Bay near the Silverfish River.
- Find the frozen NPC worshippers—these characters are stuck in time and cannot retaliate when attacked.
- Use melee attacks or spells to repeatedly hit them, leveling up your combat skills without risk.
- Avoid starting the Peryite quest, as completing it will free the NPCs, preventing further XP farming.
This method allows players to rapidly increase combat-related skills, leading to faster overall level progression. While Bethesda has patched some exploits, this classic trick still works in Oblivion Remastered.
With Oblivion Remastered’s new leveling system, players can level up faster by focusing on Major Skills and taking advantage of skill books and combat exploits like the Peryite’s Shrine glitch. Whether you’re aiming for a powerful warrior build or a stealthy assassin, mastering the leveling mechanics will help you progress efficiently.
